First Trimester

Can't believe we've already passed the first trimester! Here's some of our sonogram/ultrasound pics to let you see how the baby's grown. We'll find out the baby's gender in about a month.

Week 6

Our first doctor's appointment. The doctor confirmed the pregnancy(yay!!). I went by myself since I didn't think they'd do a sonogram - thought it was just going to be a bunch of tests. During the sonogram, the doctor pointed out the heartbeat but I had no idea what she was talking about... I just trusted that she knew what she was doing. The baby looks nothing like a baby right now.

Baby Size: 1/4"

Week 9

Leo came with me to this appointment. They took a bunch of blood and had me do a urine test. When the doctor did the sonogram we were actually able to see the baby move and the baby's shape. At one point the baby squiggled/did a lil dance for us. The doctor warned us ahead of time tha tthe head will look unusually large - but assured us that this is very normal.

Baby Size: 1" - about the size of a grape

Week 12

We went to the hospital for our ultrasound. The baby actually looks like a real baby now. We can see arms, hands, legs, the profile - they even showed us images of both hemispheres of the baby's brain! It's crazy what you can see! They usually don't allow video cameras in the hospital, but the technician let Leo film a bit at the end.

Baby Size: 2"; 1/2 Ounce - about the size of a lime
